The construction documents, bidding, and contract had to be completed in time for construction to begin at the end of the 2008 football season to be completed by the start of the 2009 season.

The AHS Music Building was designed to accommodate both interior and exterior use. The front lawn and concert space allowed, during weather permitting days, for band to perform outside. The 7,010 sq. ft. addition consists of separate band and choir rehearsal rooms, instrument rooms, practice rooms, offices, music library, dressing rooms, and restrooms.
A new 54,646 sq. ft. facility consisting of 24 classrooms, media center (with fully accessible story pit), administrative offices, multi-purpose room, kitchen, and restrooms; complete with all equipment, HVAC, electrical, paving and site work including drop-off / pick-up lanes, bus loop, parking, and playground.

The 8,457 sq.ft. renovation of the Carlsbad High School Ralph Boyer Cavemen Stadium West Stands and Pressbox. The addition/renovation included an a new elevator, addition of the pressbox, refinish of the exterior interior surfaces and materials and new siding.
In 1999 Hagerman Schools began renovating their entire campus. Many of the projects were in phases dependent on PSCOC awards. Each project had to be carefully designed as a unified whole; yet each phase had to be able to stand individually in the event that the next phase was not funded. The proper timing of the design, construction documents, and bidding were also essential to the success of each phase and to the overall completed project
